Oscar Odd McIntyre was raised in Gallipolis and he began his journalism carrer at the Gallipolis Journal in 1902. He worked for publications in East Liverpool, Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio before graduating to the big time in New York in 1912. He had a long and distinguished career as a syndicated columnist in New York City. For a quarter of a century his daily column, “New York Day By Day,” gained increasing fame, and at his peak it was published in almost 500 newspapers. He died in 1938 at the age of 54. |
